Wide-band RF Frequency Synthesizer supports multiple RF applications

Chipidea is proud to announce the new Frequency Synthesizer IP (C10511tm / CI10511tn) for Digital TV Tuners and EDGE/GSM Transceiver applications.

First USB High-Speed PHY IP in TSMC 45nm



Chipidea taped out a USB High-Speed OTG PHY in TSMC 45nm. This is the first 45nm USB PHY core known to be taped-out in this advanced node, with the following technology variants: TSMC 45LP with 1.8v devices and TSMC 45LP with 2.5v devices.

Forefront of Technology: Chipidea's 45nm USB PHY leads the connectivity market into the most advanced technology nodes, while establishing new performance milestones.

New standards in reduced power consumption: Mobile Phones, Portable mass-storage devices and all applications requiring low power consumption are ideal target applications for this core.

Advanced Data Converters in TSMC 90nm G for Set Top Boxes and other high performance applications.

For Set Top boxes or other Video systems requiring high performance, the 90nm Generic (G) flavour is typically the most suitable one.
Chipidea has designed IPs in G flavour down to 65nm, and has now data converters IPs available also in TSMC 90nm G.

The CI3535tm is a very compact, and low power, 10-bit, 100MHz IQADC IP for wireless interfaces. Power scales down with the sampling rate. The platform it is built-on includes also additional* power savings modes that are now silicon proven in other databases.

The CI8720tm is a 12-bit triple Video DAC from our most recent platform. This new platform has a compact design, resulting in lower silicon costs. The new Video DAC platform supports several video standards through programmable gain control and includes special power savings modes, a must for battery-powered systems.

The CI8720tm is also available as Dual DAC CI8721tm and as Single DAC (CI8722tm).

Extremely compact and highly integrated new DCDC Converter

The new CI2560kl Step Down DC-DC PWM and VFM Buck Converter, is a highly integrated supply solution for SCO digital cores with minimum number of external components.
It has been optimized for compactness while supporting input voltages up to 5.5V using 3.3V IO devices.
Main features are:
  • 2.7-5.5V battery supply
  • 1.0-1.4V programmable output (extendable to higher output voltages)
  • Maximum output current 100mA optimized for 33mA (extendable to higher output currents)
  • Switching frequency: 2MHZ
  • Over 90% conversion efficiency

Expanding 90nm portfolio with Voice and VoIP Compact Audio Codec 80db

Chipidea is expanding 90nm portfolio with compact Audio Codecs with 80db of performance for application such as VoIP, mobile phones and digital still/video cameras among others.

The CI7818tm is a complete Voice and VoIP compact Audio Codec, 16-bit 80dB Dynamic Range 24kHz Full Duplex Mono Audio Codec with Automatic Gain Control.
It includes the functions of A-to-D and D-to-A conversion, channel filtering, microphone and speaker interfacing, using oversampling delta-sigma technology.

The channel filters are implemented digitally, embedded in the decimation and interpolation filters associated with the converters.
The ADC channel has a programmable gain of 12 to -26dB with 0.5 dB step and a sensitivity of 70mVrms (for 0dB setting). The data port is 16 bits serial at 16/24kHz word sample rate.
A power-down mode is included with less than 2µA of standby current.

Applications: Mobile phones; Still/video Digital Cameras; VoIP

Technology: Instantiated in 90nm CMOS; retargetable towards any sub-micron CMOS technology
